39 days to go - booked flight to london

My right shin still hurts from the long run and race at the weekend. It was sore and tight during the warm up on Sunday. Felt sore afterwards. Really sore Sunday night and I ran with it Monday (12 am, 4 noon) and Tuesday (12 am, 7 pm). Slept in this morning to give it some rest. Sometimes it feels better after a run, but I’m not able to push my runs that hard… so I could do without it being hurt. Will put in an easy 4 this lunchtime just as an excuse to stretch it.

Booked my flight back home for London. Flying out on the Wednesday night, getting in Thursday morning. Gives me 3 days and nights to adjust to whatever jet lag there is. Thought about paying extra for a slightly bigger seat on the way out but instead I’ll just beg and grovel for an upgrade at the counter and see if that helps me any. Visa appointment at the US Consulate on Thursday, and then spending the Friday and Saturday just kicking my heels dealing with the hyperactive child that is hugh on taper.

Been looking back over my training before Chicago… wondering if I’ll even do as well as I did in chicago in London. Wondering if my goals are too big right now… should I be content with a pr? In my mind I see this scale of times from 2:39 down to <2:29>
