An attempt to track the ups and downs and ins and outs of a boys attempt at, at best, becoming a semi-elite (thats at best) long distance runner

cross training is boring

still cross training. christ it's boring. exercise bike and weights and core stuff two or three times a day. will probably have to cross train through the weekend as well 'cause I can still feel some pain in the shin and I want to be pain free before I start running again.

I'm getting closer to confirming all of the details of a trip to Kenya for a month to train in september at a training camp in Iten, just outside of Eldoret. I have a place booked for the month of september, and I'm close to paying for the flight (about $1,600 after taxes and fees via the might british airways).
  • High Altitude Training.
  • Kenya.
  • Looking over the Rift Valley.
  • With fast people showing me how to run better.
  • A whole month solid focused training.
That should help me improve and help me move towards breaking 2:30...

...and I downloaded a swahili course from my local library today so I can start learning the language so I won't look like a complete foreign idiot when I get out there.
