just ran 6 miles on the treadmill. oh yes i did. now, considering that three weeks ago running 140 miles plus in a week didn't really bother me, i guess I shouldn't be so chuffed. but i just ran 6 miles on a treadmill without my shin muscle giving out, and that makes me very happy. first time i've run that far without pain in about 24 or 25 days. doing all those happy things like taking ibuprofen, ice pack on it now. The shin felt a bit tight, and i was paying it far too much attention. but no pain.
Running 6 miles on a treadmill is insanely boring. Golds gym had nothing good on the telly (why would they? it's 1pm on a tuesday). If you lived in Minnesota and had a treadmill in your basement and could set up a telly and watch random dvd's... that might be less boring.
But back to the shin - it definitely reacted a bit. But the reaction was tightness rather than pain. Trying to sort out a Physical Therapy prescription/referral so that I can see a PT lady (Rachel Miller) tomorrow at 7:15am.
Cross Training tonight - bike for about an hour or so. And there's a picture at the top of this from the dcrrc awards night for the 25-29 mens category winners for the clubs snowball series of races. i don't add many photos. here's one. Fun. And games.
